Message from the Headteacher
A warm welcome to Folksworth Church of England (VC) Primary School. We pride ourselves in the family ethos we have created in the school and the strong links we have with our local community. The Christian faith is central to our school values and we have very close links with St. Helen's Church in the village.
At Folksworth our staff work as a team to inspire a life-long love of learning aiming to achieve the best outcomes for our children. We seek interesting and exciting ways to enrich the curriculum to help them to develop and achieve their aspirations for their futures.
For more information about our school please do contact us, we would be happy to tell you more about our Folksworth family.

This week Elm class became experts in Ancient Greek lifestyles and after researching a specific area, presented their findings to others, who were fantastic listeners and made notes.
The children in Elm Class have begun creating designs for a Greek pot, or plate, that they will make out of clay.
Miss Kohlschmidt is very proud of another amazing story time reader in Acorn Class. This young lady loves to read every day and we could all admire her confidence and ease. Well done!
We have had great fun in Reception this week learning about growing. The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle is our first book of the term. The children thought about what a seed needs to grow and had a great time planting some lovely flowers in our outdoor area. They did an amazing job!
Year 2 loved their outdoor maths session learning about position and direction. Today we were learning how to do whole, half and quarter turns.
A reminder that tomorrow is class photo day. https://t.co/a2Ipnfxsnm
Miss Kohlschmidt was very proud of this young man as he used his own initiative and read out loud his current favourite bed time story. Acorn parents, please feel free to encourage your children to bring and read their favourite book to the class during story time.
We hope all of our families have a lovely half term break! ☀️
This afternoon Elm class went to the Fiery as part of our PSHCE focus- managing risks. We discussed different risks we take and what precautions we include to make situations safer. We listened to the story of the koala who was scared to take risks. (A robin came to join us too!)
To end their PSHCE theme about ‘managing risk’ the children in Oak class have been to the Fiery. They lit the fire and toasted marshmallows very safely! 🔥
