Welcome to Folksworth Church of England Primary School
Message from the Headteacher
A warm welcome to Folksworth Church of England (VC) Primary School. We pride ourselves in the family ethos we have created in the school and the strong links we have with our local community. The Christian faith is central to our school values and we have very close links with St. Helen's Church in the village.
At Folksworth our staff work as a team to inspire a life-long love of learning aiming to achieve the best outcomes for our children. We prioritise the use of technology and hands-on learning. Staff seek interesting and exciting ways to enrich the curriculum helping our pupils to develop and achieve their aspirations for their futures.
For more information about our school please do contact us, we would be happy to tell you more about our Folksworth family.

At Folksworth Church of England Primary School we take pride in ensuring that children are equipped with the knowledge and tools needed for the next stages of their education and beyond. Over recent years we have prioritised our pupil’s access to technology in order to prepare them for secondary school and the world of work.
Every child in our school has access to their own laptop. These are not just used for computing lessons but are on desks in every lesson to be used as a learning tool. All children have their own individual logins and many use Microsoft Teams on a daily basis. Work is set and accessed through Microsoft OneNote and children use a range of Microsoft tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Sway to present their work. Through the use of OneDrive the children can access their learning at home and in school.
For our youngest learners children have access to an iPad each where they use carefully selected apps to support their learning.
As part of the computing curriculum children learn about coding. They have access to MicroBits, Lego WeDO and Scratch to build and create their own programs. We also encourage the use of Minecraft (Education Edition) and the school’s Minecraft Club is well attended by children in Key Stage 2.
If you would like to know more about our Digital Strategy, ensuring children have access to up-to-date technology and are prepared for the future, please do contact us to arrange a visit.
