Welcome to the section of the website where you can find out more about the school’s governors and the work we do.
THE GOVERNING BOARD
Our Governing Board consists of 12 Governors, all unpaid volunteers who are committed to promoting high standards of education and achievement and to strive for excellence across the whole of school life.
The 3 main functions of a Governing Board are as follows:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Holding the head teacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils and the performance management of staff
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent including the pupil premium grant.
The Full Governing Board (FGB) as a whole group meets together twice a term and ensures that the school's values and vision underpin the policies and procedures across the school.
The school vision underpins our discussions:
‘A cord of three strands is not easily broken.’ Ecclesiastes 4:12
Inspiring a love of learning through the bonds of family, faith and friendship.
Our committees meet every half term.
The Standards Committee looks at the curriculum, pupil data and progress
The Resources Committee considers matters of finance, personnel, health and safety and property.
Our Ethos Group ensures that the school vision permeates throughout the school community.
Each class is assigned a Link Governor. They are often on the playground at drop off and collection times. They will also be present at class events, such as the termly Celebration of Learning, to represent the Governing Board. Please do speak to them about what is working well in the school, find out more about the Governing Board or of any improvements that could be put forward to the Headteacher as part of the Governing Board's ongoing work in supporting the Headteacher with strategic improvements for our school.
To see the current link governor for each class please see the Our Governors page of the website.
Please contact the Clerk to the Governors if you wish to know more about the workings of the governing body or if you are interested in becoming a School Governor.
