Information About the Governing Board

Welcome to the section of the website where you can find out more about the school’s governors and the work we do.

THE GOVERNING BOARD

Our Governing Board consists of 10 Governors, all unpaid volunteers who are committed to promoting high standards of education and achievement and to strive for excellence across the whole of school life.

The 3 main functions of a Governing Board are as follows:

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
  • Holding the head teacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils and the performance management of staff
  • Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent including the pupil premium grant.

The Full Governing Board (FGB) as a whole group meets together twice a term and ensures that the school's values and vision underpin the policies and procedures across the school.

The school vision underpins our discussions:

‘A cord of three strands is not easily broken.’  Ecclesiastes 4:12

Inspiring a love of learning through the bonds of family, faith and friendship.

Please contact the Clerk to the Governors if you wish to know more about the workings of the governing body or if you are interested in becoming a School Governor.
